Kompong Chhnang Flame On 9 July 2001, the third large scale Flame of Peace publicly destroyed 6,889 weapons. These weapons had been collected from the civilian population. The west of Kompong Chhnanng province had been a stronghold of the Khmer Rouge for many years.
